 10…9…8…7…

Well a New Year is upon us…

Time to recap and recognize…

I think I’m on a right road…
Not THEE right road…
Cause there ain’t no such thing…
Too many branches breaking off to ever think one road is
THEE right road…

But after this year…
One of my toughest years…

I think I’m OK…

Starting a great job…
Feeling better about myself
and where I stand…
My circle of friends is growing
after stagnating in the comfortable,
but the dependable…
And avenues are opening…
While less doors are closing…

I’m moving forward…
Not askew…

And I’m thankful for that…

Although…

I wouldn’t have minded about having someone to kiss on New Years Eve…
But maybe we’ll york on that next year…

 Only the Dugout would have…

…an electric, neon orange, 8 foot tall palm tree, plugged outside the bar (located at the end of Christopher St.) for the holiday season.
Luuuuuuuv it.

Night on the Christopher St. Piers

I haven’t been down here at night in a long time. Not since I lived in
the West Village years ago… It’s really beautiful down here… With the lights glowing off the water…
BTW… Any of you call me a pier queen… I’ll cut ya’ ;-)

 Ah… it’s got that new Plastic smell…

I love these guys…
I had actually had written about Tokyo Plastic in a previous post…
They’re a web/graphic design firm
That has done some amazing animation and graphics…
(Some of which I believe I have seen on G4 Tech TV and MTV)
But just recently…
I was skimming through my bookmarks again…
And saw that they had uploaded a new animation…

So…

For your pleasure….

I present…

Opera Dude

Cause there are enough of us blogging about as it is…

Many of my fellow New York bloggers
have already talked about the transit strike…
Especially many from first hand experiences…

(BTW… the transit workers are expected to go back to work soon…
and the MTA and TWU are back in negotiations.)

So I thought I’d switch it up a bit…

I was going through my bookmarks…
(Since I switched over to Firefox from Safari)
And realized that a whole bunch of bookmarks I had kept
Had been put away in the far corners of my browser…

And forgotten…

I ended up cleaning a whole bunch of them out,
but here are a collection of some of my

“Oldies but Goodies”

Qix

An online version of the classic arcade game located @
and more than likely created by…
Drunkmenworkhere.org
Where you have to build boxes and fill up the screen as much as possible
before the “The Qix” gets you…
The time I spent on this as a kid and an adult combined…
Could just as well add up to…
Well…
An entirely new kid…

Next…
graffiticreator.net

Cause I looooooove graffiti…
I love typography…
The art of letters and manupulating them into something beautiful…
This lets you at home…
Be your own street artist…
Cause you know I’m “down” like that…

Next…
Shaolin Stances

Cause I was doing a post on a chat room site…
And I needed an avatar one day…
And stubled across this site…
And thought…
“These are mother f*ckin’ beautiful!”
I felt like a kid again on Sunday morning…
Watching Kung Fu movies on WPIX…

Now…
Airtoss

I have no idea what the company does…
I think they’re German or Dutch…
That’s all I know…
But the game kicks @ss…
Cause there’s nothing like virtually shooting paper wads
into a garbage can…
I know none of you productive types have ever done that…
No…
Never…
Of course not…

Then…
Guess the Dictator or Sitcom Character

You think of a famous dictator or sitcom character…
You go through a list of yes or no answers…
And the site guesses the person in your head…
Simple enough… right?
It just gets kinda scary when it actually guesses correctly…
“Baby Doc” Duvalier…

Next…
The White Island Daily Pic

There is an island off of New Zealand…
That scientists have postioned a camera
to watch it’s volcanic activity remotely…
Back in May of 2004…
Some brilliant smart @ss…
Decided to stick a blow up Dino doll in front of it…
So that every daily shot has it in it’s frame…
The scientists decided not to remove it…
Thinking that the doll would demise in the highly sulfuric atmosphere…
But…
According to this most recent shot…
Looks like Dino’s still keeping up the good fight…
Good boy… *pat**pat**pat*

And finally…
My newest addition…
Thanks to Peter.
The Lego Photo Set

By minifig…
Depicting various situations…
But most notably…
Well known bands and famous people…
Morrissey and Adam Ant rock…
But ain’t the Village People just a kiki?!?

So…
Enjoy everyone…
And I hope these links help you waste as much time…
As it has wasted mine…

God bless sloth…

 New York, New York…

“…a helluva town
The Bronx is up and the Battery’s down
The people ride in a hole in the ground
New York, New York… it’s a helluva town!”

Well… it’s just been officially announced…

We are now in the midst of the first transit strike in 25 years…

New York City is coming to a stand still as I type…

Someone up there must have been looking out for me…
Cause I picked a hell of a time
to take off a couple of weeks from work…

“Missed it byyyyyy… that much.”

 Time… Time.. Time…

See what’s become of me
While I looked around
For my possibilities
I was so hard to please

Look around
Leaves are brown
And the sky
Is a Hazy Shade of Winter

Well boys and girls…
I didn’t realize it…

But this is my 100th post!!!!

What timing!

I started off blogging cause a friend of mine had started one…
(And unfortunately has ceased blogging since then…)

I thought at first that blogging was only going to be
a way to let things off my chest
or release quandaries plaguing this mouse trap I call my head…

But this blog has become more than that…

It’s allowed me to extend myself out there
and open up certain aspects of myself…

This blog has also started me off on the
ever unpredictable, but ever enjoyable
road of podcasting…

But the best thing this blog has done is…
Is that it has brought me into a community of really
Intelligent, witty, sharp, creative
and overall endearing individuals…
That I have luckily met, interacted with, or
have had the privilege to read about on a regular basis…

And so we go on…

“More life…”
