I went to the Black Party…
But didn’t really attend the Black Party.
Someone I ran into wanted me to do a review of the Black Party…
Well… I can’t really…
Cause…
Well…
I really wasn’t on the main dance floor at all.
I ended up going onto the floor for a bit of time…
A little bit of booty shaking…
But I just wasn’t feeling it…
So I ended up going to the backroom area…
No…
Not for that you pervs…
Two DJs that I know were DJing in the area…
Gustavo and Rich King of Snaxx….
Well…
They graciously waved me into the DJ Booth/Private area…
Safe from the hustle and bustle of the main dance floor…
And removed from the modeling and fondling
of the backroom hallway in front of the booth…
I LITERALLY was back there all night/all morning…
It had its own bathroom…
I could resupply my water bottle from the cold sinks there…
There were couches…
Company to talk to and we were able to hear each other…
AND I was living for the music…
It was Housey down…
It moved from soulful… to swing…
Minimal… to classics…
I haven’t danced like that in years…
No SERIOUSLY…
Not for a long time…
I eventually ended up leaving the black party @ 11AM…
And I slept like forever…
I remember seeing this video on MTV a long long time ago…
In a galaxy far away…
And I watched it thinking…
“This ‘group’ has got something.”
I never thought it’d spawn a megastar.
But looking back on it…
With all the jump cuts really focused on Beyonce
and her childhood friend Kelly…
I shouldn’t have been surprised.
This was really the baby steps of a burgeoning solo career.
I again was recently going through YouTube
and had come across a clip from a promotional event for DHL,
tying their shipping services to the fashion industry.
The clip was so so… but what caught my eye was a quick clip
from a designer team… Costello Tagliapietra
During their showing for Fall 2007…
Out of curiosity, I decided to Google them…
Their clothes are beautiful…
Beautifully draped
with rich, earthy tones of plum and rust…
But what also caught my eye was THEM.
Really woofy guys…
AND
They wore bear wear to their Fall 2007 debut…
Well ladies and gentlemen…
As of February 24th…
Blather and Bosh is officially
2 Years Old!
*clears throat*
I’d like to thank the academy of arts and…
Oh…
Umm…
Wrong speech…
*shuffles index cards*
Ah… here we go.
*pushes glasses up bridge of nose*
Although I haven’t been blogging as often as I usually do…
I’m still here…
And I’m glad I still am…
From this blog I have made contact with several great individuals…
Creative and endearing people…
Many of whom I consider friends…
And many I might have never met…
If it weren’t for this blog.
For this I am thankful…
Because its these people and their unique energies and perspectives that have made my life so much more full and interesting.
Added color to a life usually filled with earth tones and gray scale.
I’d also like to thank you guys…
Those of you out there still checking in on me,
And peeking in on my tangents and tirades.
I’d also like to take this time to thank Peter of macboyx.com and the ohmypod podcast. Without him and his support, much of this would not be here. Thank you Peter. *hugs*
